Statement.
superSky is designed to explain its data use clearly: why the app asks for location, which services help deliver forecasts, what is stored on your device, and where support or legal details live.
superSky is built to work without a superSky account, without advertising SDKs, and without third-party analytics. Weather features still rely on location permissions, Apple platform services, and forecast providers, so this page describes those flows directly instead of making broad promises.
Location Services
When you grant superSky access to your location, the app uses those coordinates to fetch local weather and related forecast data. superSky currently requests weather data from Open-Meteo and also relies on Apple location services for features such as reverse geocoding and place search.
If you prefer not to use current location, you can still use superSky with manually chosen saved places. The app does not require sign-in to browse, save, or manage supported locations.
superSky does not maintain a location history feed. The app keeps the active location, saved places, and related weather payloads needed for app, widget, watch, offline, and preference features, and you can remove saved locations or clear cached data from within the app.
Local Storage & Protection
superSky encrypts selected locally stored weather data and saved locations before writing them to local storage used by the app, widget, and watch experience. Encryption material is protected with Keychain-backed storage on device, which helps reduce the chance that readable cached location or weather data is exposed if local storage is accessed directly.
Network Security
superSky uses HTTPS for forecast requests and includes pinned transport protections for supported weather endpoints. These safeguards are designed to reduce common interception risks on untrusted networks, but no networked system can promise absolute security.
Accounts, Sync, and Device Features
superSky does not require accounts, email addresses, or registration. Some preferences and weather context are shared locally between the iPhone app, widgets, and watch components using Apple platform storage and connectivity features so the experience stays in sync across superSky surfaces on your devices.
Apple Intelligence-generated Morning Decision text, when enabled on supported devices, is generated on device. superSky does not add its own remote AI service for that feature.
Advertising, Analytics, and Support
superSky does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs. If you contact support by email, the information you choose to send will be handled through your email provider and our support inbox so we can respond.
